Born out of a DECA competition and a real problem in art education — here's how it all began.
Bruxel Academy was incorporated as an LLC on April 10, 2024, founded by Kanishk Sasikumar in Bentonville, Arkansas. What started as a DECA entrepreneurship project quickly became a real business built around a genuine problem: art education simply wasn't keeping up with where the industry was heading.
Traditional programs were graduating artists who had never touched digital tools or AI-assisted techniques. Digital art students, on the other hand, lacked classical foundations. Neither side was fully prepared for professional work — and self-paced online courses weren't solving it because they couldn't replicate the feedback and interaction of a live classroom.
Bruxel Academy was built to close that gap — a virtual platform offering live, small-group instruction that bridges traditional and modern art techniques. In December 2025, development began on LearnTeachArt and Prepxa, expanding the platform into mobile apps to reach students and teachers at scale.
Traditional art students couldn't leverage AI tools, while digital artists lacked classical foundations — leaving both sides unprepared for industry demands.
Out of 2 million art graduates, only 200,000 earn their living as artists. Bruxel Academy exists to change that by making artists more versatile and market-ready.
Artists and collectors hesitate to adopt NFTs and blockchain technology due to lack of education — a gap our curriculum directly addresses.
